The Ponies

Dark Horse Ranch is proud to announce that we recently acquired 2 Dales Pony mares to use for future breeding projects. Dales ponies are originally from northern England and are currently listed as critically endangered by the The Livestock Conservancy of North America. Dales ponies are a large size at 14.2 hands and can easily carry most adults, and are docile enough to carry small children. These ponies have a beautiful presence and such wonderful personalities and have been the perfect addition to our farm. Dark Horse Ranch is a proud member of the Dales Pony Society and The Livestock Conservancy. The Dark Horse Ranch ponies are great for riding and driving, and visitors are encouraged to take a trail ride around the property, or ride in our round pen or arena. We also have access to an indoor arena at nearby Woodside Farm in Woodstock IL.
